PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PCR primer which is specific to Bifidobacterium longum BB536, does not exhibit a cross reaction not only with other Bifidobacterium genus bacteria but also with the different strains of Bifidobacterium longum, and can quickly and simply detect the Bifidobacterium longum BB536, and to provide a detection method using the same.;SOLUTION: This PCR primer for detecting the Bifidobacterium longum BB536 comprises a pair of an oligonucleotide having a specific base sequence and an oligonucleotide having a specified base sequence. The method for detecting the Bifidobacterium longum BB536 comprises performing a PCR using the PCR primer and using the chromosomal DNA of a test bacterium as a template and then determining the presence or absence of an amplified product.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
