SILICON NANOPARTICLE COVERED WITH ZINC SULFIDE FILM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new nanosize silicon nanoparticles each covered with a zinc sulfide film which are expected to be applied to an electronic device; and a method for producing the same.;SOLUTION: A mixture of zinc sulfide powders and silicon monoxide powders is charged in a crucible, and the crucible is placed in a heating furnace. Thereafter, the crucible is heated at 900-1,100°C for 0.8-2 h, and further heated at 1,100-1,200°C for 1-2 h, while making an inert gas to flow. Thereby, the silicon nanoparticles each covered with the zinc sulfide film, in which the silicon nanoparticles have particle diameters of 50-100 nm and the zinc sulfide film has a thickness of 50-100 nm, are produced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
