PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten take-out energy of particles as against incident energy without making a magnet larger, that is, enable to make energy gain large, in a spiral orbit type charged particle beam accelerator having a magnet arrangement like a ring cyclotron.;SOLUTION: A non-uniform magnetic field increasing its field intensity in accordance with increase of a radius is formed, and at the same time, an accelerating high-frequency voltage distribution with fixed frequency is formed, and further, the magnetic field and the accelerating high-frequency voltage distribution are formed so that the harmonic number as a ratio of a charged-particle rotation period to an accelerating high-frequency decreases in integer units at every turn of the charged particle.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
