PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matching system and method capable of performing matching matched to orientations of job seekers and job offerers by highlighting a retrieval axis (retrieval item) showing to which condition items the job seekers or job offerers attach importance, automatically detecting the priority order of the retrieval items, and performing matching according to the priority order.;SOLUTION: A matching server connectable to job seeker terminals and job offerer terminals through a communication network such as the Internet comprises a job seeker/job offerer information registration means; a priority order assignment means automatically detecting orientation items of job seekers and job offerers based on the job seeker information and the job offerer information and assigning priorities to the orientation items; a corresponding person narrowing means narrowing corresponding job offerers for the job seekers and corresponding job seekers for the job offerers; and an automatic matching means matching the job seekers with the job offerers based on the narrowing result.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
