PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light beacon collision warning apparatus capable of preventing ships from colliding with floating light beacons and light buoys and a method for preventing collision with light beacons.;SOLUTION: The light beacon collision warning apparatus 1 issues collision alarms at predetermined time intervals, and a receiver 7 installed in a ship 6 navigating within the range of reception of the collision alarms receives the collision alarms. Further, the light beacon collision warning apparatus 1 receives AIS data transmitted from ships navigating around floating light beacons, and on confirming a ship 6 navigating within a first predetermined range, transmits AIS data including information on the positions of the floating light beacons 2 to the ship 6 expected to pass within a second predetermined range.
