The invention relates to a method and device (1) for determination of a varying temperature distribution (7) in a given measuring region (4) of an object (2), whereby the temperature is recorded by means of a pyrometer (3) along the measuring region (4) starting from a temporarily-applied uniquely identifiable position marker (5, 6) and the temperature distribution (7) is represented on a display (8). The relation of a temperature, different to a set value (11), to the actual position on the object (2) within the measuring region (4), occurs based on the display representation.
