The invention relates to a wire stitcher comprising a stitching cylinder that carries at least one stitching head and a closing cylinder that acts as a counter-support during the stitching process, said cylinders rotating respectively about a rotational axis and delimiting between them a nip for the passage of a printed product that is to be stitched. The stitching head can be adjusted along the axis of the stitching cylinder with the aid of a gear. At least one closing block of the closing cylinder can be adjusted in conjunction with the stitching head.
