The invention provides an active pharmaceutical ingredient comprising a compound of Formula II:where R⁹, R¹⁰ and R¹¹ are independently selected from hydrogen and C₁ to C₄ alkyl; and R¹² is selected from hydrogen and -C(O)R¹³, where R¹³ is a C₁ to C₆ alkyl or an aryl group; or an ester or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of such compound, in admixture with pharmaceutical diluent or carrier, for use in the treatment of an inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract in a subject in need of such treatment. The invention also provides for the use of the said active pharmaceutical ingredient in the manufacture of a medicament for use in the treatment of an inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract in a subject in need of such treatment.
