COMPOSITION FOR IMPROVING CONSTIPATION COMPRISING SUGAR AND SUGAR ALCOHOLS

A composition for improving constipation is provided to be able to excellently improve the constipation within short period of time such as within 10 hours by inhibiting absorption of moisture into intestine and increasing osmotic pressure into the intestine without causing diarrhea. The composition for improving constipation comprises at least one sugar and sugar alcohol selected from the group consisting of indigestible maltodextrin and lactulose as an effective ingredient, wherein the sugar and sugar alcohol are contained to show an osmotic pressure value of 120-350 mOsm, measured from the solution obtained by concentrating or diluting a solution containing the sugar and sugar alcohol into 100 gram and then diluting the concentration into 1/10 thereof. In the composition, the sugar alcohol is selected from the group consisting of sorbitol, xylitol, erythritol, lactitol, mannitol, and maltitol.
