The system has support flanges (3, 5) situated in the periphery of a plate (2) that acts as a spacer and permits to fix an insulating material (14) on a U shaped metallic section (10). Fixing pins (4, 6) situated at ends of the flanges are supported on returns (11, 12) of the section by clipping the system on the section. The material placed against the section is perforated by the flanges. An independent claim is also included for a method of implementing an insulating material fixing system.
