Procedure for producing an animal osteosarcoma model that mimics human pathology uses tumour cells with high osteogenesis capacity introduced intra-osseously into host animal
Producing an animal osteosarcoma model, comprising administering to a host animal, especially a rat that is destined to be euthenased, osteosarcoma tumour cells from a donor, is new. Producing an animal osteosarcoma model, comprising administering to a host animal, especially a rat that is destined to be euthenased, osteosarcoma tumour cells from a donor, is new. The selected cells are osteocondensing, i.e. have a high osteogenesis capacity, and are introduced intra-osseously into the host animal with a view to obtaining a reproducible model with pulmonary metastases and a primitive osseous tumour that can be superimposed on physiological and time levels on a human osteosarcoma. The cells are introduced with a preferable concentration of 10 6cells/200 microL to produce an intraosseous and then paraosseous tumour development with metastatic dissemination on a pulmonary level in proportions comparable to human pathology and a similar development over time.
