The method involves taking into account an attitude value (A1) of an aircraft, and determining a current attitude (A0) of the aircraft. An attitude difference (A2) is determined by subtracting the attitude value from the current attitude of the aircraft. Horizon line (10) and attitude difference indication symbol (14) are displayed in superposition of environment seen in front of the aircraft, on a visual display screen of a head up display, where the symbol remains permanently in a display field of the screen.
