The method involves displaying a straight line (13) representing a plot on the ground of an approach axis, on a visual display unit (12) of a head-up display of an aircraft. An assistance point is displayed on the unit (12). Another straight line (21) representing the plot on the ground from a result of another axis is displayed on the unit (12). Another assistance point representing a gradient of the latter axis is displayed on the unit (12). A synthetic runway (22) representing the plot at the ground from the edges of a landing runway where the axes are present is displayed on the unit (12).
