METHOD FOR DEVELOPING SUSTAINABLE NATURAL GAS FIELD

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mass-produce methane by making good use of a formate (or formic acid) synthesizable using carbon monoxide contained in incomplete combustion gas of a biomass and an organic waste as a substrate for a methane-producing bacterium. PSOLUTION: (1) Methane gas is mass-produced by partially oxidizing an organic waste at a high temperature to give carbon monoxide gas, letting a strong base act on the carbon monoxide gas under high pressure at high temperature to give a formate (or formic acid) and making good use of the formate as a substrate for a methane-producing bacterium. (2) Methane gas is mass-produced by using not only formate, etc., but also hydrogen gas as a substrate for a methane-producing bacterium generated together with carbon monoxide gas in partial oxidation in the process (1). (3) Formic acid or acetic acid produced by an existing method is added without using a formate, etc., derived from an organic waste in the processes (1) and (2). (4) Hydrogen gas produced by another method is used as the hydrogen gas used in the processes (1)-(3) without using partially oxidized gas of an organic waste. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
