PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the illegal use of a content, and to improve convenience for a user. PSOLUTION: The data consistency in a content player CP1 is confirmed, and the data in the content player are backed up to USB equipment. Backup data for inspecting data validity generated based on an equipment identifier D1 and an inspection value D7 of an integrity guarantee value are recorded in the USB equipment. The consistency of the data backed up to the USB equipment is confirmed by using the equipment identifier D1 acquired from the backup data for inspecting data validity and the inspection value D7 of the integrity guarantee value, thereafter the backup data are restored, and an integrity guarantee value D5 of right information and the inspection value D7 of the integrity guarantee value are updated so that the restored backup data can be used by a content player CP2.
