PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To anticipate the amount of the deviation of a pattern register generated by the joint section of webs of an old reel and a new reel or a sheet cutting register, and to enable it to be corrected.;SOLUTION: A method of controlling the register of the pattern in an offset rotary printing machine having a feeder 1 which supplies the web W continuously while the sheet is joined from the old reel 11 to the new reel 12, and a printing section 3 which has printing units 31-34 in which a plate cylinder 36 and a transfer cylinder 35 are connected to be driven, includes the steps of anticipating the amount of the deviation of the pattern register generated at the time of sheet joining, adjusting at least one of rotating phase of the plate cylinder 36 and the transfer cylinder 35 and the amount of the deviation based on the amount of the deviation of the anticipated register, and correcting the amount of the deviation of the register.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
