The method involves detecting angular position differences between a print work specific reference angle and an angular position of a printing cylinder during sheet transferring/delivering process when a change is detected in an operating condition of a rotary sheet printing machine. Print work specific correction values are determined for circumferential register alignment of a printing block cylinder to adjust paper displacement due to variations of the printing cylinder. The circumferential register positions of the printing block cylinder are corrected using the correction values.
