PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a translation selecting device capable of selecting a proper translation including a function word such as a conjunction. PSOLUTION: This translation selecting device comprises a case data creating part for analyzing a plurality of corpuses with correct answers stored in a memory of the corpus with correct answer by an analyzing part, extracting a value relating to the attribute stored in an attribute table by an attribute extracting part on the basis of a result of analysis, and storing a plurality of case data where the extracted attribute value and a second language applied to the corpus with correct answer are made to correspond to each other in a case data buffer, a decision tree creating part for creating a decision tree as a translation selecting rule on the basis of the plurality of case data stored in the case data buffer, and a decision tree scanning part for analyzing the inputted translated sentence by an analyzing part, extracting a value relating to the attribute stored in the attribute table by an attribute extracting part on the basis of a result of the analysis, and deciding the second language corresponding to a word included in the translated sentence inputted by scanning the decision tree created by the decision tree creating part on the basis of the extracted attribute value.
