The floor component is for a prefabricated building and comprises a support layer of reinforced concrete and a top layer on which it is possible to walk. The upper side of the support layer is provided with a number of longitudinally and/or transversally running grooves (4). These grooves extend over the entire length and breadth of the support layer. The floor components can be coupled with the aid of drawbars fitted in the grooves. A possible format consists of three elongated floor components (1a,1b,1c) and three four-sided floor components (2a,2b,2c), of which the angle points are supported by columns (3a, 3b...) and which together form a basic floor for the building. The columns are preferably anchored directly in the floor but, if required, can be placed on a foundation plate or in a foundation trough or on a prefabricated foundation. A prefabricated building can be simply enlarged during construction to meet the requirements of an incoming buyer in order to provide additional space. The one floor component (2b) can be provided with a casing-shaped structural component (5) equipped with central facilities, such as heating boiler, ventilation unit, electrical current provision and similar. All the floor components have a supporting layer in which the grooves are provided. Between the supporting layer and the top layer heated or cooled air, ventilation air, utility conduits and similar can be distributed. An independent claim is included for a prefabricated building using the floor components of the invention.
