Fire protection system of metal joints in glued laminated wood structures. Designed to prevent premature failure of a structure made of glued laminated wood, or similar, due to the metal connectors used in the assembly of the different components of the structure, due to a fire. It consists of coating the entire exposed surface of the metal connector (1) supporting the belts (2) of the structure with wood, said metal connector (1) being secured to the beam (3). The protection is achieved by wooden plates (11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17) in one or more layers to reach a predetermined thickness depending on the stipulated time for the protected metal element (1) to reach the critical temperature of 300ºC when it receives heat through a layer of wood. The different plywood boards are joined by intumescent glue and with screws or nails whose head is embedded and protected with intumescent putty, all joints being sealed with this same putty and finally having an intumescent varnish finish.
