A method of screening cellular polypeptides by pro-apoptotic or anti-apoptotic activity in a cell of a particular type of cell; said method comprises a. culturing cells of said particular type of cell under non-apoptotic conditions and culturing cells of said particular type of cells under apoptotic conditions; and b. determine the subcellular location of said cellular polypeptides in the cultured cells; wherein a location of a cellular polypeptide in lipid rafts in cells grown under non-apoptotic conditions and a segregation of said cell polypeptide from lipid rafts in cells grown under apoptotic conditions is indicative that said cell polypeptide has a pro-apoptotic activity or a anti-apoptotic in said particular type of cell.
