The shielded mounting module comprises a cover member (216) and a box member (218). The box member (218) includes a plurality of bosses (220a-d) formed in the bottom surface. Each of the bosses (220a-d) provide an electrical contact point and are soldered to corresponding electrical pads (222a-d) on a circuit board (200), for example, grounded pads on the circuit board (200). The bosses (220a-d) also serve as stand-offs or spacers to mount the module above the surface of the circuit board (200). In another embodiment, the bosses are formed as a pair of rails (230a,b).
