METHOD FOR CONTROLLING LCD BACKLIGHT IN MOBILE TERMINAL

A method and a system for adjusting an LCD backlight of a mobile terminal are provided to reduce power consumption of a mobile terminal in implementing multimedia through an LCD without using additional hardware. It is checked whether an LCD is operated(S1). When the LCD is operated, an LCD backlight is driven(S2). A level of intensity of light around the LCD is detected by using an internal camera(S3). Intensity of the LCD backlight is controlled according to the detected level of intensity of light(S4).
