The exhaust volume (10) comprises a main enclosed area (12) provided with a passage for the circulation of exhaust gas on both sides thereof. It comprises at least one shell (30) in the form of a vessel that has an opening which is defined by the peripheral edge (36) of the shell, wherein the or each shell (30) is joined in a tight manner to the outer surface of the main enclosed area (12) along the peripheral edge (36). Opposite said shell, the main enclosed area (12) comprises a plurality of perforations (4) enabling communication between the inside of the enclosed area (12) and the inside of the shell (30).
