A novel antibacterial compound obtained from a culture solution of Lactobacillus plantarum AF1 isolated from kimchi is provided to show antifungal activity, thereby being used for foods, feeds, cosmetics, and biological preservatives. The compound having antifungal properties is represented by the formula(1), which is obtained from a culture solution of Lactobacillus plantarum AF1(deposition number of KFCC-11340) isolated from kimchi. The food or cosmetic comprise the compound represented by the formula(1).
