Provided is a vibration damping composition having a low specific gravity which is excellent in self-adhesive property and is improved in cold resistance. The vibration damping composition comprises 8-15 wt% of butyl rubber; 3-8 wt% of polyisobutylene; 20-40 wt% of a flow preventer; 1-2 wt% of carbon black; 10-30 wt% of the glass bubble having a density of 0.3-0.5 g/cc as a filler; and 1-2 wt% of maleic anhydride polyethylene wax, 8-15 wt% of low molecular weight polybutene and 20-30 wt% of high molecular weight polybutene as a tackifier. Preferably the flow preventer is the calcium carbonate coated with a fatty acid.
