System for reducing airborne small particles by fitting all road vehicles with slipstream filters

A system for reducing the level of airborne particles, e.g. 10 mu m particles, has filters fitted to all road vehicles to collect air from the slipstream. Air is ducted to filters positioned about the vehicles to sweep airborne particles as they are driven along the roads. No external energy sources are required.
