Vibrating exciter has a magnetic field orientated radially to the excitation direction (13-13) and extending in the excitation direction over a length L M(34) which is larger than the extension L T(33) of a moving coil in the excitation direction. Preferred Features: The magnetic field is produced using permanent magnets (26, 28) having a partial hollow cylindrical shape with one radial outer pole and one radial inner pole. The magnetic flow from the permanent magnets is guided to a hollow cylinder (18) via a magnetic fixed body contacting a pole.
