The invention relates to a rain - or hail protection device (2) for crops with at least two rows of supports (6), at least two first cables (14, 16, 18), each of which the supports (6) of a row in the vicinity of their upper ends, as well as at least two webs (20, 22, 24, 26) made of films - or mesh material, whose a longitudinal side edge (28) in each case of any one of the ridge cables (14, 16, 18) is held and the other longitudinal side edge (30) in each case forms a trust frand. In order to reduce the susceptibility to and to facilitate the management, it is proposed that the trust frand (30) by elongated connector (44) with an adjacent ridge cable (14, 16, 18) is connected, to which the connector (44) by means of an adjacent web (20, 22, 24, 26) or under an adjacent web (20, 22, 24, 26) extend.
