Ventilation system has bypass means (7,16), by which fuel vapors discharged from inside of the fuel tank can be fed into the filling-breather line (3). The operating-breather line (4) at their upper end discharges into the ventilation unit (6). The operating-breather line is connected with the fuel filler tube (2) as well as with the atmosphere of the fuel feed.
