The method involves producing a first volume data record of at least one region of interest of the intestine with a computer tomograph, identifying a voxel relating to intestine contents, suitably modifying it to produce a modified data record without visible intestine contents, producing at least one additional volume data record of at least one region of interest with a different spectral distribution and identifying at least part of the voxel relating to the intestine content based on local density and/or ordinal number information produced taking into account the spectral distributions. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing the inventive method.
