The protective cover (1) for a motor vehicle consists of a flexible textile sheet (2), on the edge of which is incorporated a band-form structure (3) in an encompassing manner as weighting. The flexible textile sheet has an air-penetrable structure which also permeable by water vapor. The flexible textile sheet has a light-reflecting surface coating which may consist of aluminum.
