Electric heater for supplementary heating of vehicles comprises a casing fastened by a spring clip. This contains a heating unit consisting of a PTC heater (4) between two metal contact sheets (2, 10) which supply current to it and a radiator element (5). One of the sheets (2) has a lacquer coating and the gap between the heater and this sheet is sealed by lacquer (12) which is squeezed out from it. Independent claims are included for: (a) the heating unit; and (b) a method for making it.
