Improvements to seats, bed chairs and the like

A collapsible framed seat has first and second pivot assemblies (204 and 205). The seat structure contains a releasable locking member (209). The seat may have a squab (200) and a backrest (201). The squab and the backrest may have frame of rigid elongate material (202 and 203). A U shaped coupling means is provided to connect the locking means together (Fig 7 and 9) and may be a rod or a wire. A handle (210) is connected to the coupling means to enable a user to simultaneously unlock and reposition the backrest with respect to seat squab. A spring bias means (700 Fig 7) may be provided to urge the locking means into engagement. Lifting the handle raises the locking means out of the notch allowing pivot movement. The releasable locking means may have a motor (1401 Fig 14). The seat may be a collapsible, camping or angling chair. The seat may have a locking means in the form of an elongate rod engaging with a plurality of locations (Figs 5,7,10 and 11) or via a cable ( Fig 13).
