PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a sawtooth wire having tooth parts with a strict and uniform geometrical shape.;SOLUTION: The sawtooth wire for forming a sawtooth-like whole-steel card clothing for a roller or a carding element of a spinning machine such as a flat card, a roller card, a cleaner and an opener has a long base part region (a leg part) and a neighboring tooth part region (a blade) in which tooth parts are formed by cutting. The sawtooth wire in which the tooth part has the front face of the tooth part, the back face of the tooth part and two side faces, and also has a blade groove between the back face of one tooth part and the front face of the other tooth part arranged in order is provided.
