PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a right turn sensing control system and a right turn sensing control method, for obtaining the condition in an intersection and inexpensively suppressing a congestion of right turn-waiting vehicles without enlarging the control system. PSOLUTION: Areas where vehicles waiting for right turn stop in the intersection 13-1 to be photographed by a camera 7-1 are set as right turn vehicle sensing areas 14A-1 to 14D-1, each area is photographed by the camera 7-1, and the number of right turn-waiting vehicles is detected by a right turn vehicle detector 5-1. A signal control device 6-1 temporarily changes a signal control parameter according to the detected number of right turn-waiting vehicles to extend/shorten the display time of a right turn arrow or the display time of a yellow or red signal lamp. Even if there are a number of right turn-waiting vehicles in the intersection, all the right turn-waiting vehicles advances out of the intersection, and congestion of the right turn-waiting vehicles can be suppressed. Further, since the display time of the right turn arrow can be shortened when right turn-waiting vehicles are very few, the unnecessary time of lighting the right turn arrow can be reduced.
