PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side thrustor of a vessel capable of injecting injection flow water in any direction and capable of being used as an auxiliary propulsion machine.;SOLUTION: A side thrustor (6) is formed into an inverse-U shape; a rotatable closed injection casing (10) is oppositely arranged at a discharging port (9a) of a discharging casing (9) of the side thrustor (6); a water flow guide discharging cone (11) is vertically arranged at the bottom part of the injection casing (10); an injection port (10a) is opened in the water at a side wall of the injection casing (10); an injection water flow injected from the discharging casing (9) in a downward direction is guided in a horizontal direction and a downward component of a thrust power is not generated but it is injected in a horizontal direction; and then an injection efficiency of the thrust power is improved. The injection casing (10) is rotatable and a vessel (1) can be easily moved away from or moved toward the coast or held at a specified position in a water region. The injection port (10a) of the injection casing (10) can bedirected toward an optional direction and this can be utilized as an auxiliary propulsion machine.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
