PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a positional adjustment and strengthen regular fixation by selectively attaching a retaining member before or after attaching a pillar attaching part to a pillar. PSOLUTION: This supporting metal fitting is composed of a main body member 4 which is made by projecting a support 3 with its tip constituting a free end sideways from a pillar attaching part 2 to be attached to a pillar 1 and a retaining member 5 which can be set slidably into the support 3 from the free end of the support 3. The retaining member 5 is provided with a pair of upper and lower setting and locking parts 6 which are set and locked into both the upper and lower edges of the support 3, a coupling part 7 which couples the upper and lower setting and locking parts 6 with each other, a tapped hole 8 which is provided in the coupling part 7, a screw 9 which is screwed in the tapped hole 8 and whose tip bumps against the support 3, and a mounting part 11 which is projected forward from the coupling part 7 and to which the flank of a wiring accessory attaching member 10 is to be attached.
