PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying system for conveying capsules and a conveying method in which each branch point of a conveying line may read and control a destination mark without using a central computer at the branch point.;SOLUTION: The conveying capsule has a destination indicator 85 each having the destination mark. Conveying lines 1, 2, 3, 4 are formed of a plurality of endless materials, either long or short, having a starting and arriving station 6 for each conveying capsule in the whole area or part area. The plurality of endless conveying lines and each starting and arriving station are connected to receiving branch lines 1b, 2b, 3b and discharging branch lines 1a, 2a, 3a. A discharging end side and a receiving end side of the conveying capsule of connection parts are connected to each other by means of recycle lines 2c, 3c, 4c so as to exchange the conveying capsule. In each position before recycle lines and at least each receiving branch line provided at each conveying line, a search means is provided for searching if there is a starting and arriving station having the destination mark placed on the destination indicator of the conveying capsule.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
