CONTROL METHOD FOR EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN OF FUEL CELL VEHICLE

A method for controlling an emergency shutdown of a fuel cell vehicle is provided to move a vehicle to a safe space by driving the vehicle in a fuel cell mode or an electric vehicle mode based on a shutdown delay time. A method for controlling an emergency shutdown of a fuel cell vehicle includes the steps of: informing a driver of an alarm signal through an alarm display unit in case that a potential shutdown signal occurs in a fuel cell controller; after the driver recognizes the alarm signal, performing a corresponding treatment to drive the vehicle to a safe space; performing an active control to prevent and delay shutdown of a fuel cell system in a power control unit if receiving the input signal; if the active control is successfully performed, eliminating the alarm signal and returning the drive to a normal drive mode; if the active control is failed, determining whether the fuel cell system is deviated from a shutdown time range; if the fuel cell system is not deviated from the shutdown time range, moving the vehicle to the safe space and shutting down the fuel cell system; and if the fuel cell system is deviated from the shutdown time range, shutting down the fuel cell system, and driving the vehicle in an electric vehicle mode.
