LOW POWER RFID SYSTEM AND METHOD, READER APPLIED TO THE SAME

A system and a method for low power RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) and a reader applied to the same are provided to set a power mode actively according to radio wave environment received by a reader performing RFID communication with a predetermined tag, thereby increasing an operation time of the reader and manufacturing a smaller reader by using small battery capacity. In an RFID system by wireless communication between a reader(100) and a tag(200), the reader determines an RFID distance as an actual survey distance with the tag through a size of an RF signal received from the tag. By comparing the determined RFID distance with a preset reference distance, the reader is operated in a high power mode or low power mode according to the comparison result.
