The actuator has a piston rod (11) with magnetization (M) and a piston (13) connected with the piston rod. A cylinder (12) holds the piston in such a manner that that the piston moves translatory relative to the cylinder during a movement of the piston. A position sensor is provided for detecting the position of the piston rod and detecting the magnetization of the piston rod. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a tailgate with throttle control (2) a rollable fabric roof or rigid folding roof system with a throttle control.
