The arrangement has a working piston (2) guided in a cylinder housing (1) and forming two working chambers (4, 5) filled with electro/magneto- rheological fluid and interconnected by an electro- rheological controlled valve (10). The piston has an outward guided piston rod (3), and a gas pressure piston (7) is provided in the housing and separates the chamber (5) from a pressuring medium supplied by a gas pressure chamber (8). The piston (7) is connected with a piston rod (9) that is sealingly guided in a cylindrical drilling (11) of the piston (2), where piston rods have same cross section.
