The method involves bringing two movable clamping strips (2) to sides of a layer, where the sides lie opposite to each other. A clamping head is slightly raised after clamping the layer with strips, so that a gap is formed at both sides of the layer. Load carriers are inserted into the gap to support a product (1) in subarea of the layer, and the clamping head is continuously raised for transformation of the layer. The thickness of the load carriers is increased from a free front end to a rear end, where the load carriers are designed as metal plates. An independent claim is also included for a device for performing a method for layer-wise transformation of products.
