The file has a rear (10) and a front cover (12) coupled by a spine (14) with double-layer folding strips (16), reaching into the file inside. A clamp (28) has limited motion between a free position and a clamping one, transversely to the spine. The clamp has two elastically spreadable shanks, one gripping the rear cover, while the front shank is insertable onto the folding strip, thus clamping the documents. For easy document handling, the rear side folding strip layer (16') is wider than the front one (16").
