The device has a casing (7) fastened rotatably on a shaft of a rotary vane pump, and an adjusting ring (3) provided at the casing, where the adjusting ring is proximate to a pump chamber (30). A stationary outer ring (4) is positioned in a borehole of a housing. The outer ring is provided with rubber rings (13, 13a) and slide rings (14, 14a), where an inner front side of the adjusting ring is formed as an axial slide surface, and a slide ring seal (100) is formed with the slide ring (14a). Another adjusting ring (90) forms a play-symmetric slide ring seal (100`) with a barrel band.
