The pump (1) has a rotor (3) fixed on a shaft (4), where the shaft is supported in a radial bearing (5) of a pump housing (2) in a rotatable manner. The rotor carries multiple displacement units (6) in a tangential distance to each other. The radial bearing is formed as a sliding contact bearing (7), where the shaft with a shoulder (8) lies against an axial locating ring (9) at an axial end (10) of the radial bearing, where the locating ring is held in the pump housing in an undisplaceable manner and the end is turned towards an exterior of the pump housing. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a rotary pump.
