The pivoting workpiece table (10) has a clamping device (17), a clamping element for fixing workpieces (15) or workpiece pallets (16) on the work piece table in a detachable manner and an electronic control device (23). The electronic control device has two controllers (21,22) generating control signals. Each controller is connected with a position measuring device for detecting the lower horizontal position of workpiece table. The clamping device has a safety device for releasing the clamping elements only by releasing-controlling signals generated by all controllers simultaneously.
