PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microdischarge truing device and a finely machining method using it capable of efficiently removing the offset and run-out of an extremely narrow and thin grinding wheel, performing highly precise truing without deforming the grinding wheel itself, requiring small size and output of power facilities, eliminating the need for a complicated control circuit and device and easily manufacturing/remachining articles of consumption including an electrode. ;SOLUTION: A microdischarge truing device includes a conductive grinding wheel 12 for machining a workpiece 1, a disc discharge electrode 14 having an outer peripheral edge 14a accessible to the machined face 12a of the grinding wheel, an electrode rotor 16 for rotationally driving the electrode around its axial center Z, a position controller 18 for controlling a relative position between the outer peripheral edge of the electrode and the grinding wheel, a voltage applicator 20 for applying preset pulse voltage between the grinding wheel and the electrode, and a machining liquid supply device 22 for supplying alkaline liquid between the grinding wheel and the electrode. Microdischarge is stably generated between the outer peripheral edge 14a of the rotated discharge electrode 14 and the machined face 12a of the conductive grinding wheel 12 to thereby melt and remove the metal bonding portion of the conductive grinding wheel in a non-contacting manner with high efficiency and high precision to correct the grinding wheel on its surface in a desired shape.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
