A system and method are disclosed that loads data from a plurality of sources (240) to a master data repository (220) for output to a number of target systems (250). Data is loaded from the systems to an input staging area (210). In one embodiment the loading interface may use relational table structures and semantic mapping metadata. A number of rules are then applied to the data in the input area to convert data to a format suitable for the master repository. These rules may comprise business filters, auto correction and validation rules. Error records may be recorded in a table for separate processing and subsequent loading to the data repository. The method and system provide a method for harmonising data in a master repository from a number of different sources.
